Biography

Dr. Imran Mahmud is currently serving as Professor and Head of the Department of Software Engineering at Daffodil International University, Bangladesh. He holds visiting positions at the Graduate School of Business, Universiti Sains Malaysia; Thuongmai University, Vietnam; Halic University, Turkey; and Gedik University, Turkey. He previously served as a Senior Lecturer at Universiti Sains Malaysia and as a visiting lecturer at Institut Teknologi Bandung (Indonesia) and the Hong Kong Management Association.



Educational Background

Professor Mahmud earned his PhD in Technology Management from Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2017 and completed his MSc in Software Engineering from the University of Hertfordshire, UK, in 2000. He has received several distinguished awards, including the Hall of Fame and Prestigious Publication Award from Universiti Sains Malaysia, the Young Researcher Award from Kasetsart University, Thailand, and the Young Scientist in Technology Management award from the Venus International Foundation, India. He also received the Research Excellence Award twice from the Project Management Institute (PMI) Bangladesh Chapter for his outstanding contributions to academic research.


He currently supervises 11 PhD students from Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, Universiti Sains Malaysia, and Universiti Malaysia Perlis. His research interests include management information systems, digital behavior patterns, structural equation modeling, and machine learning. He also serves as a consultant to the Directorate General of Medical Education (DGME), Bangladesh Institute of Management (BIM), and Titas Gas. Professor Mahmud has published over 104
